It was a perfect autumn day for cyclists to get into their lycra and conquer a mighty ride for 145Classic 2018.

Our youngest rider this year was 15 years old! It certainly is a ride for everyone.

2018 introduced a new ‘loop course’ through the Southern Highlands – starting and finishing in Bowral. There were two loops to choose from:

Ride A: a shorter 91km loop ride including a stop at Triple Care Farm.

Ride B: a longer more gruelling loop ride of 140kms taking in the Macquarie Pass descent, a climb up the iconic Jamberoo Mountain, and a pit stop at Triple Care Farm.

Both courses were tough, featuring punchy, undulating hills. Participants confirmed that “well – trained ‘climbing legs’ are a must!”

What makes this ride special? It raises funds for young Australians struggling with addiction, mental health issues and homelessness. Sir David Martin Foundation’s funded programs – Triple Care Farm (youth drug and alcohol rehabilitation program) and David Martin Place (youth drug and alcohol detoxification program) are the beneficiaries of participant’s fundraising efforts.

By stopping through Triple Care Farm, riders get to see firsthand how their funds help to transform young lives.

A big thank you to everyone who made this event a success. Mildren Events, Rotary Club of Berrima, Bike Bug, Rapid Relief, volunteers, photographers, Bradman Centre.

We couldn’t do it without you!
