If the below FAQs do not answer your question, please contact us.
Are SDMF youth programs open only to NSW residents?
Triple Care Farm and David Martin Place are both open to young people from all across Australia.
From where does SDMF receive its income?
SDMF's income comes from a combination of fundraising appeals, events, philanthropic grants, bequests, community fundraising and interest. Currently, SDMF does not receive any government funding.
What is the relationship between SDMF and Mission Australia?
When Sir David Martin decided to establish a charity to help youth in crisis, rather than start a new service from scratch or duplicate work being done elsewhere, he had the foresight to use his name and influence to support an existing organisation doing great work in the area. Sydney City Mission (now Mission Australia) had just established Triple Care Farm in the Southern Highlands and was a perfect fit. Since then SDMF and Mission Australia (‘MA’) have been joined in a multi-faceted partnership that includes SDMF as funders of programs delivered by MA. MA in turn is the Trustee of the Sir David Martin Foundation, and provides support services to minimise SDMF’s administration costs and maximise the % of donated dollar that goes to program delivery.
How can I change my communication preferences?
We respect our donors' privacy and are happy to update your communication preferences and control the number of mailings that you receive. Please contact us via phone or email with your name, address and request regarding your mailings.
Can I volunteer at one of the programs?
Given strict laws regarding privacy and working with children, sometimes it is hard to facilitate volunteer work at our programs. We can, however, organise 'working bees' or volunteer days for groups. For individuals who are keen to give back, we often require volunteers to help with our fundraising events. Please contact us for more information.
