Sir David Martin Foundation - Helping young people in crisis

South West Youth Services

South West Youth Services provides support and direction for marginalised young people (12 - 25 years) living in the Macarthur area. Young people can access a variety of programs that will empower and assist them to identify their goals and overcome certain barriers that may be preventing them from realising their full potential.

Sir David Martin Foundation support South West Youth Services by funding a full time counsellor who provides intensive counselling sessions to young people enrolled in the programs of South West Youth Services. The counselling sessions include one to one, family counselling, group therapy and drug and alcohol counselling.

“I am very excited and grateful for the generous support of the Sir David Martin Foundation,” said Trevor Summers, Services Manager at South West Youth Services. “Domestic violence, poverty, childhood abuse, drug and alcohol misuse, crime and mental illness are sadly all too common among the young people that we serve.  As Manager, it is fantastic to be given the ability to enhance our service by providing specialized support and guidance to young people with often tragic childhood experiences.”
