Holly loved Life, Music and Art….
She was a happy and energetic young woman who inspired others with her friendship, sense of humour and enthusiasm. Her passion for live music events was legendary.
She completed Certificate II in Graphic Design at St. George TAFE in 2006, travelled overseas in 2007, and was preparing to begin the Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design at Enmore College when she tragically lost her life in January, 2008. The talented young graffiti artist drowned while pursuing her passion for street art after she was swept 1km through a flooded storm water drain.
Holly’s parents, Peter and Helen, have established a Scholarship through the Sir David Martin Foundation as a memorial to Holly, in recognition of her intention to pursue a career in the fields of Art, Graphic Design and Photography.
The intent of the Holly Legge Memorial Scholarship is to help a young disadvantaged student with the expenses of pursuing their arts education. Because of her passion for the arts, we feel sure she would appreciate being remembered through this scholarship.
The Scholarship is for a student to help to defray expenses for educational materials to undertake study, or course fees. Preference will be given to those students who can demonstrate financial need, and those who are working towards a career in the arts sector. The scholarship can be used for books, fees or any other expenses relevant to attending further studies. The scholarship can also be used for equipment or tools essential to gaining meaningful employment within their chosen career. Applicants must state what they need financial assistance for in their application.
