Workplace Giving

What is workplace giving?

Workplace giving is the process of making regular donations to your favourite charity through your employer's payroll system. Employers may choose to match employee donations or donate a specified amount.

How does it work?

Workplace giving is a simple, tax efficient and cost effective way to donate to Sir David Martin Foundation.

Benefits of a Workplace Giving Program

• Employee gifts are completely tax deductible.

• Employee donations are deducted from their pre-tax salary, therefore taxable income is reduced.

• Workplace giving enables employees to give directly to Sir David Martin Foundation each pay period.

• Employees can give as much or as little as they want – there are no limits.

• Employers can choose to provide a matching gift with the employee donation.

• Workplace giving is an easy, automatic tax deduction for employees, without the need to keep track of receipts.

• Based on the marginal tax rate of 32.5%, a $20 pre-tax donation will cost an employee $13.70 after the automatic tax deduction. Sir David Martin Foundation will still receive the full $20.

• No need to collect, keep and claim tax receipts as the tax deduction is immediate – it does not get any easier!
