Sir David Martin Foundation - Helping young people in crisis

I am at the starting line of my journey at the farm, I have only been at the farm now for two weeks and I’ll be having my 21st birthday very soon.

I am a long way from home; it was so hard watching my mum driving away knowing that I couldn’t be there with her it was a very emotional time for us both. But I believe that I am here for a reason my mum searched around for so many places but nothing stood out that much, until she came across triple care farm. When she told me what the farm had to offer it was everything that I was interested in, I had never been to Sydney before so it was a whole new place to get to know and an adventure.

The staff here have been amazing, even though on the second day I gave some of them a hard time, they still kept encouraging me and always smiling no matter what was going on. I have never met such generous and self sacrificing people who give so much of their time to help young people in need.

Its been a humbling experience realising how much I have taken peoples help for granted or not accepted it, all the beautiful young people here with me are all inspirational to me in many different ways I have made some good friends already and I appreciate the experience so much.

The counselling has been fantastic I has been a huge help for me in keeping me strong and motivated to stick it out for the 3 months. I have been drug and alcohol free for 4 weeks now and I have never felt better. I am looking forward to achieving my goals and starting a brand new life with the help of triple care farm.
