Ambassadors

Lady Martin Geoff Huegill Jim Williams Andrew Lock John Mangos

Ambassador’s publicly support the work of Sir David Martin Foundation. Their generous efforts help to raise awareness and funds for our vital youth programs’ and give a voice to youth who may not be able to speak up for themselves.

Our ambassadors come from different backgrounds and career paths and genuinely want to make a difference for youth in crisis.

We look forward to working with them over the next 12 months and thank them for their involvement with the Foundation.

Lady Martin
Since the inception of the Foundation in 1990, Lady Martin has worked hard to carry on Sir David’s legacy and fulfil his wish of setting up the Foundation to get Australia’s youth off the streets and into care and rehabilitation.

Lady Martin carries on the splendid work as the Foundation's First Lady. She is the guest speaker at a wide variety of occasions. She works extremely hard to continue the legacy of Sir David, who lived his life on the virtues of service to his country; courage, fortitude and caring for those who are disadvantaged.

Lady Martin also leads the Foundation's Women's Committee who host regular fundraising events for the Foundation.

Geoff Huegill
Geoff was a dominant figure through to the early 2000s as an elite international champion Butterfly swimmer over 50 and 100 metres, becoming, by the age of 25:

- Dual Olympic Silver and Bronze Medallist
- Five times World Champion
- Eight times World Record Holder

He then called it quits when he was 26. But now he has his sights set on the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games and even the 2012 London Olympics.

He has just turned 30, and has lost 40kg to return to the pool four years after his last appearance for the national team. The biggest step came in October 2008 when the NSWIS gave him a scholarship so he could train under Grant Stoelwinder and alongside his Super Squad that includes the likes of Eamon Sullivan and Libby Trickett.

Geoff is very proud to take on an ambassador role for The Sir David Martin Foundation. With the main aim to get more young people off the streets, away from unhealthy situations and into care and rehabilitation, The Sir David Martin Foundation encourages young people towards ‘a new sense of self belief’ so that they can face the community at large without the need for drugs, crime and homelessness.
